CHICAGO TRANSIT

chicago

There are a lot of bands doing a tribute to the band Chicago, but back in the early 90’s, when 'Powerhouse' decided to put together their Chicago Transit tribute act, they were the first in the world to do so. Today they remain as the longest running Chicago tribute band and the only one to carry four lead vocalists, just as the band Chicago does.

The bands’ 5 lead singers, the 3-piece horn section and the 5 piece rhythm section, made this show a natural for all Chicago fans. In twenty-five years, Chicago Transit toured across the US and Canada extensively. They cover all the Chicago material from the early horn-dominant classics like ‘Make Me Smile’, ’25 or 6 to 4’ and ‘Saturday in the Park’ to the later, softer, keyboard-oriented ballads like ‘If You Leave Me Now’.

TAKING CARE - A FILM AND CONVERSATION ON DEMENTIA AND CAREGIVING

artfest
TAKING CARE, a 38-minute documentary that follows Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen as they face the challenges of Lauren’s mother’s early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Directed by award-winning filmmaker James Keach (Walk the Line; Glen CampbellI'll Be Me; Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice), the film captures the Rogens' unique blend of humor and honesty as they navigate the challenges of caregiving.

Following a screening of the film, there will be a panel and discussion with the audience. Panel members will include clinicians, researchers, caregivers, and people living with dementia. We hope to explore opportunities for improving the lives of those affected by dementia, and educating future generations on prevention as well as caregiving needs.

This event is open to people of all ages and abilities. We hope to spark a meaningful conversation in our community to collectively prepare for the increasing rates of dementia. Come prepared to share and learn from stories and experts.

ROD STEWART EXPERIENCE - FEATURING DOUG VARTY

ROD STEWART EXPERIENCE

Doug Varty's ‘Forever Young’, The ultimate tribute to ROD STEWART. It takes a special kind of performer to create the voice and stage presence of Rod Stewart, the timeless vocalist known for hits like Hot Legs, Forever Young, Maggie May and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy. Doug Varty is that performer. And just like Rod, whenever he performs, Doug Varty makes the stage his playground, interacting with the crowd, and singing to audience members.

Doug says that his performance is "about creating something memorable. Rod’s the minister of fun, and he knows how to show an audience a good time. So that’s what I do - I recreate the ultimate front man". You’ll recognize Stewart’s soulful rasp, his trademark outfits and swaggering stage moves. When the hair is right and the black trousers are on - watch out!

ANJALI - A TRIBUTE - FESTIVAL OF INDIAN DANCES

Classic Albums Live

Anjali – A Tribute is the inaugural presentation in a landmark initiative by Canada’s National School for Indian Dances (CNSID), an organization committed to preserving, promoting, and presenting the richness of Indian classical dance traditions in Canada and beyond. This production launches CNSID’s long-term vision: to celebrate officially recognized Indian classical dance forms through annual, high-caliber productions that educate, inspire, and engage communities across cultural boundaries.

The first-year launch of this initiative will take place on June 8, 2025, marking a significant milestone for CNSID. Rooted in the classical styles and the ‘Guru-Shishya parapara’, Anjali – A Tribute reflects the timeless artistic philosophies of Indian dances with powerful choreography, original musical compositions, and live performance elements, the production offers an authentic and immersive experience that reflects the depth, grace, and storytelling power of these classical forms. Alongside classical dances, like Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi, vibrant Indian folk traditions such as Garba will also be showcased, adding to the festive spirit and cultural richness of the event.
